“Happiness is a state of mind. It’s just according to the way you look at things.” Walt Disney
In today’s society, so many of you are racing through life and you are losing the feeling of true happiness. You may be locked in a cubicle all day working at a job that is slowly sucking the life away from you thinking this is the end of the line.
Your schedule keeps getting busier and busier causing you to become even more stressed.
How is it possible to find the happiness you once had when you were a kid?
Well for starters, you got to realize that learning the habits of incredibly happy people can help you break free from your old negative thinking. Let’s face it, what you are doing isn’t working and it is time to make some changes in your life. Because if you DO NOT, there will come a point in your life where you will look back wondering the “what ifs”. What if I could have done something differently. What if I went after my passions in life.
Time seems to speed up when you are always in a hurry. Well here is a fact. Life will always be busy, and the more you focus on rushing through it, the more you miss out on so many wonderful things.
Start following these 10 habits of incredibly happy people today and take your life back.
Whenever a person smiles, they trigger positive chemicals to be released throughout their body. By doing this it raises your vibration leaving you feeling more blissful.
Have you ever been around someone who always is frowning?
Somehow, even though they don’t say anything, their low energy is drawn towards you draining your once bubbly mood.
Being happy is contagious. But it also takes practice. You can either believe you were predestined to be an unhappy person, or you can start practicing smiling. I know this sounds a little silly.
But it works and I do it all day long. The moment I wake up I affirm today is going to be a great day and I force myself to smile. I practice doing this throughout the day keeping me motivated and optimistic about having a good day.
This smile doesn’t have to be a forced cheesy smile, just a simple half-smile. So today just try it. Being happy is a choice. We all have difficult circumstances we are surrounded by. It is just how you handle them.
Don’t let life steal your thunder. Start smiling and BECOME HAPPIER.
Just like smiling, laughing also triggers positive reinforcing hormones and chemicals throughout your body. A great way to do this is by watching a comedy or any funny movies.
Pop in a Jim Carrey movie and watch your mood change instantly. Turn off the news and even those drama sitcoms.
There is so much to laughter that will leave you feeling so much happier. But all it takes is putting yourself in the right environment. Just because you don’t like your job, or you work around a bunch of energy vampires doesn’t mean you can’t be happy.
Forget about it. On your lunch hour read something funny. There is so much on YouTube that will make you laugh. Shift out of your slump from your environment and boost your laughter.
Too many people lose sight of what they are grateful for. You may not think there is anything to be thankful for until you lose it.
You may not like your job, but for now, it pays the bills.
This doesn’t mean you can’t find another one. But for the time being, be thankful you have a job. You must realize that you have the power to change your circumstances. If you must get more education, then find a way to make it happen. Everything is temporary while you seek another one that is more to your liking.
How about being able to talk, walk, and even breathe. You may not think these things are a big deal, but if you were to have them taken away from you, there would be a change in heart. Spend some time helping those in need and you will realize that your problems are so little. Just stop what you are doing and take some time to be thankful for the little things.
It is so much easier to focus on your problems. But it takes a true state of grace to see the gifts you have right before your very eyes. Start practicing being grateful and you will shift your mind to becoming happier and more appreciative.
4 Being Present
God, the Universe, or whatever you believe in gave us all a gift and it is called the present. As you grow older, life gets the best of you causing time to seem like it has sped up. Don’t blink because it may slip away.
My wife and I are in our mid-forties. When we were younger, life seemed to move at a slower pace. But nowadays we are so busy, and it seems like time has zipped by. Our parents are in their 70s and our girls are getting into their teen years.
Where did the time go?
There is no getting away from it. But what we found is, no matter how busy you are, there will always be another project around the corner. But you never get a second chance to play ball with your children or be present in a conversation with your parents.
When they are gone for good, it will make you wonder if only you spent more time with the people you love. It is time to STOP and smell the roses.
I mean it, really!
If you see some flowers take some time and smell them and notice their beauty. Don’t worry about what other people think. They’re all sleepwalking through life and probably won’t even notice.
Start being present in your loved one’s conversations. Give them your undivided attention. By being present you will start noticing time slowing down and becoming aware of all the beauty around you.
5 Giving Back
What you give will come back pressed down shaken and overflowing in your life. If you want to be happier, then give a smile to people in need. Try making someone else feel happy and your body will start feeling happy in return.
It’s called tithing to the universe. You sow what you reap. But don’t just do it thinking you will get a reward in return. Because you can’t outsmart the Universe.
Have you ever had someone randomly smile at you and for some reason?
I know it always lifts up my spirit.
Just a simple gesture of kindness for other human beings is so rewarding and will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. It gives you a sense of purpose to be a better person.
This is what life is all about. Life is busy and before you know it, you’re knocking on heaven’s door…
STOP what you are doing and slow down. Start giving acts of kindness to people in need. The world needs more warriors of love, compassion, and kindness…
6 Loving Yourself
“The only thing that will make you happy is being happy with who you are.” Goldie Hawn
The reason why many of you are unhappy is because of your environment, your lack of confidence, and your self-worth.
This is all phycological. It’s in your head whether you are good enough. We all were created in the image of the Almighty. You have the spirit of source energy flowing through every cell of your body.
Is that not enough for you to realize how FRICKEN AWESOME YOU ARE!
It’s time for you to look yourself in the mirror and affirm to yourself “I AM GOOD ENOUGH, I AM LOVEABLE, I AM LIKEABLE, I AM WORTHY TO BE LOVED…”
And the most important one, “I LOVE MYSELF.”
If you do not love yourself and believe you are amazing, you are only going to attract low self-esteem people into your life.
Strengthen your confidence by loving yourself in the mirror every night. It is going to take practice, but you can plant seeds into your mind and recondition yourself to the person you so desire to become.
7 Having a Healthier Body
When your body feels good and looks good, there will be a shift in your mood. Too many people make New Year’s resolutions to work out and they end up giving up. It’s ok, you are not alone. But when you understand how the subconscious mind works, you will be more likely to create new improved healthy habits.
Too many people make goals but fail to commit because they are not emotionally involved with their reason. Dig down deep inside yourself and find your reason for living. Let this be your fuel to change your habits.
My wife and I are big into Yoga. It is awesome and you can do it from the luxury of your home. Make having a healthier body become a priority while eating better foods. You only get one life to live so make it count.
Stress is a silent killer and it is becoming the plague. What people don’t realize is stress releases so many toxic chemicals throughout your body leaving you feeling depressed and emotionally drained.
When done right, meditation is like having a shot of your favorite expresso leaving you feeling energized. This practice helps release all the stress while filling your body full of happy chemicals such as serotonin and melatonin.
I used to struggle with anxiety and depression, but since I have been meditating for over 4 years now, I feel amazing.
But it takes work and practice and you can’t miss any days. This is the cocktail you have been looking for your whole life. Commit to this practice and watch your life change for the better.
It will not only help you become happier, but it will boost your immune system, and help skyrocket your success.
Because success is 90% phycological and you are strengthening your mind…
9 Reading Positive Reinforcing Books
When is the last time you read a self-development book?
Key individuals such as Oprah Winfrey, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffet claim reading helped them become the people they are today.
I read about a chapter every morning and a few pages before I go to bed. If you don’t have time, then plug into audible and listen on your way to work. Turn your vehicle to a university on wheels.
Instead of yelling and screaming at the traffic, take the time to strengthen your mindset to become a happier and more optimistic person. What you feed your mind will manifest in your life. Start planting seeds of positivity into your mind and start pulling out all the weeds of negativity. Not too many people have the luxury of hanging around a life coach or a mentor, so reading is your next best thing.
Fill your mind full of inspiration and watch your life slowly begin to change.
10 Surround Yourself with Uplifting People
You are a product of your environment. Have you ever been in such a great mood until you get around a bunch of DEBBIE DOWNERS?
Your mood changes and you are now vibrating at the same frequency as these energy vampires. Stay away from these people because they are toxic.
Find yourself uplifting people and let them fill you full of joy, laughter, and happiness. You become who you hang out with. So, you might need to look at the people in your life and give a few a kick to the curb…
